The Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) began utilizing the new rule for tie-breaking in the event that multiple candidates have the same CRS score. The new rule operates to rank candidates with a tied score according to the date and time of submission of their profile.
IRCC put this rule into operation in its latest Express Entry draw on November 8, 2017. A total of 2000 candidates were invited to apply for permanent residence in this latest draw and the lowest CRS score amongst the candidates was 458.
